It also encompasses practical elements like field trips to social companies, interviews with local entrepreneurs, job shadowing and other practical assignments including the local community. The training curriculum includes a handbook to be completed by youngsters resulting in a social business idea and an instruction guide for youth workers on how to support youngsters in this learning process about social entrepreneurship.

Digital Coaching Manual for Youth Workers

SUSE also developed a Digital Coaching Manual for youth workers. We are encouraging youth workers to enhance their digital skills and educate them about different methodologies on how to apply digital elements in coaching, with a specific focus on teaching social entrepreneurship as a tool to involve youth in local communities and improve employability. Topics that you might find in the Digital Coaching Manual are how to use social media in informal teaching, how to engage youngsters at distance, innovative ways of deploying social media in engaging youth to social entrepreneurship, tips and tricks regarding digital coaching, use of digital games in youth work etc.

Handbook ‘How to set up a (digital) competition

And then the most fun element of the project is the competition! SUSE sets up regional competitions for youngsters with social business ideas. To streamline the organisation of these competitions, we developped a handbook on how to set up the (digital) competition. It will guide the organisation through each step and will be enriched by tips and tricks of the organisation of our own (digital) competitions.
